Tuesday evening I joined friends for a seafood supper at Roland’s in the Strip District. The five of us met to dine out, for the first time in over a year. We had a table outside and had a good time at our reunion, eating and toasting to our being together.
One dessert was sufficient to share.
It’s just a thing. But it still feels sad.

Baking with buttermilk creates delicious results. I used the Best Ever Blueberry Muffins recipe with buttermilk but reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup.
And I used 1/2 c of melted butter instead of canola oil. No butter necessary on the muffin. It’s already inside. The house smells so good when they are baking.
Climbs trellises and walls with ease. “There are over 300 species with the Ranunculaceae -buttercup family.” This one is from my friend Joan’s garden. There’s a very popular sweater knitting pattern Ranunculus designed by Midori Hirose.
Throwback Thursday.
This photo has to be taken in the late sixties. My sister’s cat on her lap- Morgan le Fay. I don’t remember our mom being particularly fond of cats. Her parents were avid birders.
I did a transfer of the photo onto watercolor paper in a class I took.
My sister and I were just saying wish we hadn’t discarded those slip covers. Slip covers were popular years ago. The yellow was much brighter in person. And a bold black stripe.
