Toddler in the mist.

Charlie (2) joins cousins Maura and Michael in the cloudy mist.

The first time it started and hissed and the air got foggy, he ran out, not knowing what to expect.

Wasn’t long before he joined them in the Cloud Arbor by Artist Ned Kahn.
When we finish our time at the Children’s Museum the kids always run to the tall metal pipes and eagerly wait for the start of the misty foggy cloud.

You should hear the happy squeals.

The Cloud Arbor.

July 4th Celebration

Good to be alive at sixty-five.

Happy Medicare card to me.  I can get that free bus pass now.

My sister and I are in Columbus OH on the big birthday eve after our family gatherings and driving over 1700 miles.

Laura and James hosting a July 4th birthday celebration for me tomorrow.

Here’s a photo collage with some of my favorite things- my family, pignoli, fireworks, coffee ice cream, raspberries, Zeke’s coffee, reading books,  teapots, knitting and sock monkeys. Oh yes, a few shots of me throughout the years.

Atop the Stump at the Farm etc.

And a few other pics for the second ATOP gallery.

I was talking with my friend today and said I don’t think I use the word atop in my everyday vocabulary.  But I seem to have a few photos from the archives that illustrate it.

Maura, Jack and Michael in the late afternoon.

Took this the Saturday after Thanksgiving when the grandkids and I visited Aunt Mary in NYC. It was a wonderful piece of playground equipment, made in Germany.

Happy Birthday dear DIL

Got the four together this afternoon to wish you a very happy birthday. They were bike riding around the cul de sac but took a moment to pose. You are a good mom!  Xxoo  Love your MILimg_0233

Running in the Rain to the Cloud Arbor Again

Three grandkids this visit. No waiting until AFTER the Children’s Museum today.  They went straight to it. The rain really affected the cloud of mist today, hanging so low.

Crazy Fun- Mermaid Tails, Sharks and Karaoke, Xmas Sweater Selfie and Family!

Froo Froo Marlene has been crocheting for months. Hand work takes time

Her efforts paid off though cause the grandkids (who all swim for Ohio State Swim Club)  were excited to receive their aquatic afghan sleeves. Marlene also created some photo books for each grandchild too, and I got a creative magnet and mug with all the grandchildren featured!

She made one for Baby Charlie, too.  Here he is being swallowed up by his Jaws blanket!

PapPap picked out the wild and crazy SingTrix Karaoke Machine (as seen on Shark Tank, too) It provided a lot of entertainment and everyone wanted a turn.  Pap Pap’s rendition of Elvis’ Love Me Tender is still at number one for the performances.

A very merry Christmas and I just read the Weekly Photo Challenge is NOW

Now

Sometimes, we get caught up in nostalgia, future fantasy, or both, and we don’t embrace the “now.” For this week’s challenge, take a moment to notice your present, and share a photo of it.

If you are a crocheter and want the link to the patterns, I’ll get them from Grandma Marlene in the morning

Photographing Four Kids in One Frame

These are four of my own grandchildren. Should be easy, right?

Try to remain patient, I tell myself.

Don’t worry if it is not the day for a photograph.

Even if the weather is perfect and the colorful fall leaves are still on the trees.

Get kids involved in an activity to take their mind off the lens.

Two different days.

The idea is to get a nice photograph to send in a Christmas card, show how they’ve grown.

Hats make shadows on faces and  features obliterated. Oops!

Solids are least distracting.

and yesterday’s attempt

You can always resort to running and jumping as I have in the past, when all else fails.

Let them make a funny face, then a serious one.

Remember it’s a bit easier WITHOUT the dogs
