It’s beginning to look a lot like…

Christmas.

Decking the halls. Preparing for the Christmas season. I haven’t done any decorating, yet. On the recent trip to New York, the effort was in full swing. A couple of Pittsburgh shots, too.

Mid-Winter Break

Actually we are not even a month into true winter but wanted to tell you the blog will be on mid-winter break for the next week. Will miss you and will catch up with you upon my return.

Hope the Puzzle People can find a replacement piece for this 1976 USA puzzle. I value New York.

NOW- Day 3

“Sometimes, we get caught up in nostalgia, future fantasy, or both, and we don’t embrace the “now.” For this week’s challenge, take a moment to notice your present, and share a photo of it.”

Embracing the “now” as I returned home this afternoon.

Took a moment. Noticed my present.  Sharing a photo of it.

Wordless Wednesday

Penn Station Panorama

Holiday travel at peak? Not yet.

That will be this coming Wednesday.

But when the trains for Boston were announced (as I stood under the departure boards) I thought I might get run over by the rush of humanity.

Getting to their platform, getting to their train home. Rush rush rush.

Sunday, late afternoon, New York City.

The Camel on the Sidewalk Caught My Eye

Columbus OH, downtown at the State Auto courtyard. The giant camel was on the sidewalk. waiting to be positioned.

Guess what they were doing? Yep, you guessed.

Putting up the Nativity scenes for Christmas. It was October 7th.

I had to get out of the car for this one

Presidents’ Day Party Supplies in the Strip District- Pittsburgh PA

After Christmas I was in the Strip District with Matthew and Natalya. We had coffee at La Prima and lunch at Sunseri’s.  A little window shopping, popped into the kitchen store and then Wholey’s to see the fish.

One “must-see” store is Mike Feinberg’s on Penn Ave.  Right now you can stock up on Leprauchan supplies.  Or Mardi Gras masks and beads.

You name it- they have it.  Postcards and old school candy, too.

This is what we saw up front. Presidents’ Day supplies. There were tons of New Year’s hats and horns, pre-packaged party supplies for any number of guests.
