Outgrown Sleeper Transformed

Here’s a January 2019 photo. Grandson Charlie visiting at my house. He’s wearing a fleece footed sleeper that was a cozy favorite. Doesn’t take long for kids to outgrow their clothes, though.

In December 2020 my daughter sent the kitty footed sleeper to me with a request- could I make something special from it?

So I made doll pajamas, with the sleeve cuffs being the pants ankle cuffs now.

After I sewed the pjs, there was a lot of the sleeper leftover  but I couldn’t see anything in my mind to make from it. The scraps hung around for 3 weeks. Then I got an idea.
Yesterday I created Zippy the snake with the remainder. Stuffed a couple of knee socks with fiberfill and put them into the column I created to look like a snake. Now the snake can lose his skin with zero mess.

On to the post office tomorrow to get these mailed to Charlie. I’m hoping he likes the transformation.

Throwback Thursday

My father attended the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy. I remember he took a train to DC and it was really really cold. The rest of the memorabilia is at my son’s house.

This is one of the buttons he brought home as a souvenir.

Cats Enjoy the Show -Guest Blog

A couple of cats from Lancaster PA, Jake and Sadie, are enjoying the show on the TV.

Of course the show is Lion King.

My friend’s sister-in-law is the photographer of her attentive cats! I have permission from her to share her photo but she’s happy to do so anonymously. Thank you.

I thought it was a great pic and needed to be shared.

I’ve seen and posted dogs watching television but never a cat. Here’s a recent post of Penny the Goldendoodle in a gallery of TV watching photos.

Popcorn. Yes or No?

I had no idea that popcorn has been around as long as the following entry says–

“Archaeologists discovered that people have known about popcorn for thousands of years. In Mexico, for example, remnants of popcorn have been found that date circa 3600 BC. Fossil evidence from Peru suggests that corn was popped as early as 4700 BC.” Wikipedia

Kernels popped on stovetop, in a mixture of coconut and olive oil. Lightly salted but unbuttered

Coastline/ Road Edge

The road edge reminded me of a coastline, aerial view. If it weren’t for that leaf in the foreground?
