Space Station Sighting Sunday Night

You might have to strain your eyes to see it in the photo. The space station sighting on Sunday night. The little white dot to the left,over the neighbors house roof, is the space station. Traveling 4.7 miles per second. Erika’s dad knew what time to see it in the sky, thanks to an app he has.

It tells him where and when to see satellites and such in the night sky. It was really bright. Although it was over Sunset Beach Florida when we saw it, we were standing in Columbus, Ohio.

A Wish for Every Happiness

Love one another is the perfect theme for the world.

Today I saw my parents’ fiftieth wedding anniversary (1939-89) champagne flutes in Mark and Erika’s China cabinet. Mark and Erika (2002) and Laura and James (2011) both used these flutes at their weddings.

I had set the alarm this morning for five AM but Grandma Mar woke up before then and texted me upstairs. We’re here together this weekend, watching the grandkids. We woke up the girls and they made it down to the couch. They fell back asleep, snuggled in blankets until we woke them up when the bride arrived at Windsor Castle.

Friends I know were watching snd texting from Florida and Pennsylvania. It was a very happy day. Wishing Harry and Meghan a long and happy life together.

Aubergine Yarn Color in Two Lights

Aubergine yarn in two light- a great color name, isn’t it?

A friend gave me a sweater’s worth of Harrisville Designs Highland Yarn. Wooly warmth for next winter! I never worked with it before and it is nice to wind and knit. I’d like to finish it before summer’s full heat kicks in.

I used my iPhone to document progress of the sweater (pattern is Larch by Pam Allen, available on Ravelry).

I snapped the front, then the back. Ooops, the flash went off in the second shot.

Heart Transplant Recipient Ran Marathon

An AGH (Allegheny General Hospital) Heart Transplant ran the Pittsburgh Marathon last Sunday. I thought about him today and I went back tonight and found his photograph. I took it just before Mile 20.

Absolutely incredible, isn’t it?

Mother’s Day Greetings

In the ongoing effort of cleaning up the third floor earlier this week, I found a stash of postcards and greeting cards, some handmade by my kids, written or scribbled upon and saved. Saved by me cause I couldn’t bear to pitch them. Even a dot matrix computer printer card, made by the kids for me. A folded page of Murphy the Airedale’s inky footprints before any of the grandkids arrived and then I found a card with the addition of “baby” when Anna was expected.
