Kennebunk Maine Seagull- Guest Blog

Eleven degrees in Kennebunk, Maine. Cold!

This series of photos of a persistent seagull pecking on my friend Carrie’s car hood arrived in my messages tonight.
Thanks for sending these shots.

I asked if he did any damage to the hood
Carrie says,

Oh, I didn’t look. Don’t think so.  finally put it in drive and went forward. He stayed on. So I put it in reverse. He still stayed on. Then I backed up and turned to get him off. The little guy was enjoying the ride.”

Woolswap Chat Episode 3

Most people who follow the blog know I like to knit. A lot!

I joined Woolswap in 2018. Gayle Stone, of Australia, created the international program in 2016. I have “met” the loveliest woolswappers in many different counties by participating in the program. Gayle does a great job matching up fellow knitters with similar interests.

This evening Gayle filmed our Woolswap Chat -an interview filmed at McWalker Yarns in Millvale Pennsylvania. It’s about 40 minutes long. You can click the link to view if you wish.

Here’s a quick pic of Gayle in Brisbane and me in Millvale at the yarn store. Thanks Amy and Gayle.

Book a Goat for your Video Call

You can book a Goat with a Note video or a 5 minute call from the Live goat Cam during your video call or Zoom meeting.

The goats live at CronkshawFold Farm in Lancashire, United Kingdom.

The bookings help support their farm. I hear there will be baby goats soon.

I booked the live goat for a McWalker Yarns Knitting Zoom and ordered a goat video for a Happy Hour, due to time zones and availability.

It was a lot of fun and everyone got a kick out of the goats appearance.

Here’s the Goat with a Note eating the message

Trash Trifecta

You’ve seen my posts of Recliners in the Rain or Whose Chair? And maybe read my 2017 piece on Guaranteed Distraction of Unexpected Garbage. Remember the Pink Toilet Waiting in the Snow? (From 11 years ago? )

If you’ve followed the blog for a time, you’ll recognize the theme. There have been some fine items waiting for pick up I couldn’t photograph and had to drive on by. This one I captured by actually getting out of the car instead of pulling over and taking it from the driver’s window.

Wednesday night’s trash awaiting pickup was a real find. Perhaps it felt extra sweet cause I haven’t been out and about this past year so no new discards could be found.

While at a red light on North Avenue

There was a really loud noise behind me while I was stopped at the red light on North Avenue.

It was a helicopter Allegheny General Hospital. AHN LifeFlight (Allegheny Health Network)

You don’t want to need their emergency services but isn’t it reassuring to know LifeFlight is available for critical care 24/7?

“…..regional emergency helicopter and critical care ground transportation services for critically ill and injured patients who need immediate specialized care. LifeFlight is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

In 2015 I posted -Grateful for MedFlightAir Ambulances in Columbus Ohio.

Vintage Embroidery by my Grandmother

My father’s mother, the one who taught me to knit, stitched this saying I have on my wall.

Being covered in glass, the photo is tricky.

Rick is really good at bread making.
He’s okay with the photos being posted.

This is a photo of my grandmothers recipe box. there’s a is a poem about bread, glued in the lid. Ella Beyer was my godmother and I was given Ella as my middle name .
