Dino created the copies to be used as a fundraiser for  Madwomen in the Attic-he was a pleasure to work with and they look wonderful. He even carted the boxes to my car.

Election Day in Pennsylvania

Polls opened at 7.  There was already a line when I arrived at 6:57.

img_1010I wore my Grand Old Flag socks.

I thought of all those who came before me, my great grandmothers who weren’t allowed to vote, how others fought and died (and are still) to give me this right.

I am grateful.

Cauliflower Chysanthemums

My friend, blog follower and frequent commenter, Sue R, told me she saw some Chrysanthemums that looked like Cauliflower.   I said, WHERE?

She couldn’t remember exactly but I know she sent me here somehow.  I found them.

There they were right on a front lawn.  I couldn’t believe it. Thanks Sue!

cauliflower-mumsand I did get out of the car for the second shot.  Are these the ones you were referring to. Sue?

Chaos: Up Close and Personal

Chaos: Weekly Photo Challenge  do you have a junk drawer? Or two? A little dish that collects odds and ends? Stray stuff without a place to reside?

So, what’s photo worthy today, anyway?

You see lots of bugs on the gas pump- they look like fireflies but with a red chevron..need to identify them later……img_0886

You see the trees reflected in the iPad surface as you sit on the front porch.img_0906

img_0953

You go get in the car and see a puddle with leaves. Puddle reflections are a favorite thing to capture.

img_0944

You see the shopping cart corral reflected in a parking lot.

The maple has finally turned yellow in about four days time. The leaves in the garage gutter need to be cleaned out.img_0957

You drive by the neighbors, put the car in reverse and put a blinker on, consider getting out of the car but don’t –

shoot the flaming ivy from the driver’s seat. Later you are filled with regret that you’ve gotten so lazy.

Backyard Color Amidst the Weeds

Ailanthus and asters amongst the weeds.

img_0923

In fact the tree is a weed tree.

The asters pushed up and survived despite neglect. As the sun was setting the colors called to me through the kitchen window and I went out and caught them. img_0907
