Homemade Arnold Palmer Drink

Summer refreshment on the front porch.

Half iced tea+Half lemonade.

Popularized in the 1960’s by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer so that’s the name of this non-alcoholic mixed drink.

Wind Chimes in Winter. These Woodstock Chimes made in the USA- were a wedding gift to Laura and James ten years ago- from my my friend Joanne. They’re protected by the porch. They have clear musical tones. These tubes are aluminum.

According to Happy Gardens The Times of India says that wind chimes have been around since 1100BC when ancient a Chinese emperor and civilizations cast the first wind bells called Fenglings

Wikipedia says

“Wind chimes are a type of percussion instrumentconstructed from suspended tubes, rods, bells or other objects that are often made of metal or wood. The tubes or rods are suspended along with some type of weight or surface which the tubes or rods can strike when they or another wind-catching surface are blown by the natural movement of air outside.”

Halloween Greetings

Wishing you an “ enchanted night” -just like the greeting card a friend sent to me.

My DIL made the little ceramic pumpkin in elementary school and I retrieved it from the trash years ago. And the metal Chicken Feeder turned into a Jack o’ lantern was a souvenir from Acton Massachusetts this past August when visiting friends.

Front Porch Find

In sweeping up some leaves, a stitch marker turned up by the pile.

From front porch knitting.

You never know where they’ll appear. Between couch cushions, too. Have yet to find one in the bottom of any bowls of soup!

After I posted, I saw on IG The Crafty Jackalope in Vancouver BC, asked followers to “Tell me you’re a knitter without telling me.” She had posted a photo of yarn hanging out of a car door. I messaged her this photo I took yesterday and she sent back a fun emoji!

Sequence

A friend brought over this warm treat of Pear Apple Crisp on Sunday afternoon. She was going to come over Monday morning to sew but then the Crisp would no longer be crisp but soggy.

The flavors of fall, cinnamon and ginger. I took it out on the front porch.

Added some vanilla ice cream on the warm fruit. I saved a little for Steve to enjoy later.

What an unexpected and delicious treat.

There was almond flour snd walnuts too, making it so crisp.

Oscar Catches a Cool Drink

James was watering in the front yard.

Oscar thought he’d catch a refreshing drink from the hose spray.
